Mavericks Lose 70-48
Sometimes things are not better the second time around! Having lost to Leander in the finals of the Hays
tournament, the Mavericks had a chance in district play to make up for that lost, and increase their district
lead over the Lions to two games. Instead the Mavericks were overpowered by the Lions 70-48 at the
Mavs gym Tuesday night.
From the very beginning it looked like Leander wanted the game more than the Mavericks did. Pounding
the ball inside time after time to their bigs, Leander jumped out to a 20-10 first quarter lead. Aided by the
Mavericks inability to score the ball and overall listless play, Leander also outscored the Mavericks over
the last three quarters for the easy win, and are now tied with the Mavericks atop 16-5A with a 2-1 record.
The Mavericks travel to take on Cedar Park this Friday.
