The third time just wasn't the charm. The Mavericks fell to Leander for the third time this season,
including both district outings, losing 55-41 this time at the Leander gym Friday night.
The Mavericks changed its starting line-up with Clay Tobolka replacing Kyle Martin in hopes of matching
up size wise with the Lions, and was able to battle Leander to a 17-17 tie at halftime.
Leander though rattled off nine-straight points midway the third quarter to take 35-27 lead with 1:56 left in
the quarter and went on to get the win, and probably locking up its first district title since 2001.
The lost dropped the Mavericks into a second place with a record of 7-4, tied with Georgetown.
Next up for the Mavericks is Cedar Park this Tuesday night at the Maverick gym.
