In its worst outing of the season, the Mavericks fell to Cedar Park 51-41 at the Maverick gym Friday night.
The lost, combined with a Georgetown lost tonight as well, dropped the Mavericks into a tie with
Georgetown for second place in district 16-5A with identical 7-4 records.
The Mavericks could only muster single-digit scoring through each of the first three quarters, but still only
trailed Cedar Park 28-25 heading into the fourth quarter. However, the Mavericks defense collapsed in the
final quarter, giving up a whopping 23 points to Cedar Park, while only scoring 16 points themselves, and
recorded their second consecutive district loss for the season.
Anthony Davenport was the only Maverick scoring in double digits, finishing with 11.
This Tuesday night finds the Mavericks traveling just across highway 183 to take on winless West Wood.
